Family Mentor volunteers are matched with a vulnerable family who has had an assessment by the licensed JFS Program Coordinator. The Mentor provides approximately weekly in person contact with the family in order to provide support, information, access to resources and promotion of quality family life. Together they work toward goals established by the family. Volunteers must commit to 12 months of service (1-2 hours per week). Vacations are allowed but should be reported to the Program Coordinator. Alternate arrangements, such as longer visits bi-monthly, can be made with discussion and agreement by all parties.
